I took a side trip here into the profane, as I was writing a new book called Road Movie and the Profane in the 1990's seemed as content to have more success as an equation of reality.
I think maybe though it is the repetitive quality of art which makes it Sacred or gives that solidity of form.
Best thought, first thought is the profane idea which Ginsberg and Kerouac ascribed to.
It seemed my first failure. I tinker around with the idea still. The live model to paint and the Vogue Magazine idea as a sacred and profane motif. Our dressed up reality of fashion. My work though seems to need the second thought or repetition.
It may be a profundity that I've come across that everything is first thought in the contemporary world and second thought makes it too ponderous in our contemporary speed. But I think in the second thought is the art.
